Raising Your Self-Esteem
What does it look like to feel and be confident? Let's take a deeper look at how to be more authentic in our lives, instead of faking it until you make it. Oftentimes how we look at ourselves also comes from our families, which can result in internalized feelings of shame, guilt and low self-esteem. This is an experiential workshop using expressive arts therapy and embodied, interactive exercises to work with family dynamics and personas to explore how to raise our self-esteem and be confident in ourselves.
Self-Silencing Workshop
Everyone self-silences to a certain extent, and it is appropriate in certain social circumstances. However, do we make a habit of silencing ourselves in ways that do not serve us? We'll examine how we may be silencing ourselves and how it results in suppressed emotions, particularly anger. Suppressed anger can manifest in the body and mind as depression and physical illness. We'll use expressive arts therapy and movement to help identify and release suppressed emotions.
Learn to Meditate
This is an introduction workshop to meditating. We'll introduce and practice three different types of meditation - mindfulness, guided, and mantra. Mindfulness meditation is practicing being aware in every moment of our lives. Guided meditations are personalized, unique meditations for relaxation and letting go using words provided by a facilitator. Mantra meditation is the repetition of a meaningless sound each time we have a thought to bring awareness to our constant thought processes; it aids in the slowing down of our mind chatter.
